June 24   The Roy-Hart Class of 1966 40th Reunion is one week from today.

Poster If you are just finding out about the reunion or your plans have changed for next weekend and you would now like to attend - please let us know and we will fit you in!

One last reunion committee meeting will be held Tuesday, June 20 at 6:30 pm at the Niagara-Orleans Country Club. Stop by and say hello if you are in the neighborhood.

The Friday menu has changed again. Evie herself will be in charge of the catering. If you would like to help out, contact her here.

June 3    Only one more month until reunion - Please send in your payment right away.

There is still time to sign up, but you should act quickly (no later than June 5th). The reunion committee needs the final numbers to make sure everything goes smoothly during the weekend.

As soon as we have the final tally, the list of those attending will be published here on the web site.

The Friday menu was decided at the recent reunion comittee meeting. We will be ordering out for pizza and wings. Be sure to bring some cash to chip in and be sure to let Charlene (or any other committee member) know you are coming.

Get well wishes from everyone to Bob Fiedler who recently was hospitalized. Bob says he'll be back on the links in a few days!

Thanks to all who have contributed. This makes a total of 23 participating. The deadline for reservations is June 1st but you can submit material for the website up until one week before the gala. Email Chip Porter soon and be included with the rest of your classmates.

We have recently learned that classmate Jim Paron was admitted to the hospital for a serious proceedure. Why not take a minute and send a get well wish to Jim and family? (Address and email are on the Class List.)

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Pauline Chestnut. You may remember that she was the Roy-Hart School Clerk and the mother of classmate Kathy Erwin. You can see her obituary here.

May 20   There are only six weeks remaining until your 40th reunion!

Please sign up today and get ready for a great weekend! The reservation deadline for the Gala is June 1 (with payment). We also need to finalize the golf & tennis and the school tour, so don't wait to sign up for those as well.

Besides seeing your old classmates again, there will also be some special guests that you may remember. Planning on attending the Saturday night event are:

There will be a menu change for Friday night. (Because of a conflict, Ben Mesler will not be attending the reunion or cooking the turkey.) Watch this page or the Reunion Activities page for the menu update.

The next Reunion Committee meeting will be Thursday, May 25th at Finnan's in Lockport. Some topics: final details about the golf & tennis, the Friday night menu, the school tour. Also being considered are nametags with Yearbook photos on them. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please pass them along to a committee member by then.

If you plan on particpating in any reunion activities, LET US KNOW! Sign up today for the tournaments, the tour, etc. And, especially if you are coming to the Gala Dinner-Dance, please send in your check before the June 1st deadline.

We really need your bios and photos - it only takes a few minutes. Everyone wants to know what you have been doing for the past forty years.

Mar 17   There have been still more additions and changes to the Class List.
Don't forget to update your copy regularly. The list of missing classmates is getting smaller, but we still haven't been able to contact everybody. Please help if you can.

Anyone for tennis? There will be a round robin tennis tournament (possibly on the Roy-Hart courts) on Saturday morning while the others play golf. If you would like to play, please contact Bev Shelly McDonough. Watch the Activities Page for more information as we get closer to the reunion.

There have been several suggestions about possible Sunday activities. These range from canal cruises (Lockport) to jetboat rides (Niagara Falls) to Sunday brunch (Niagara-on-the-Lake). Nothing official has been scheduled, but there does seem to be much interest in some sort of wrap-up to the reunion weekend. Watch the web site for further details.

We have found a picture of Gary Ackerman for the In Memoriam page. This was taken from a homeroom picture in the 1964 "Scope." The quality is low (because of the screening and magnification) so if anyone has a better photo of Gary please send it in.

Results of the Committee Meeting at Finnan's:
- In attendance were Ben Mesler, Bev Shelly McDonough, Joe Nasal, Carol Grove Benoit, Evie Fuller Johnston & Dan Guild; Bob Fiedler was tending bar.

- It was decided to move the school tour ahead to 2:00 - 3:30. (Further input from RHCS suggested that we keep track of numbers so that they can schedule multiple tours if the group is large.)

- Details of the golf tournament will be finalised this spring when the contact person returns from Florida and operations resume at NOCC.

- The contract with Hank Nevins was signed. The music will go on Saturday from 8:00 to 12:00.

- The menu has been set for Friday night and it was noted that we need to know how many are coming. Please see the Reunion Activities page for complete details.

- In fact, it was noted that firm committments to attend all activities are needed as soon as possible! Early payments to Charlene will be appreciated.

Mar 06   There have been many additions and changes to the Class List.
Be sure to update your copy. There are still a few classmates we have been unable to locate. (See list, right.) Please help us fill in the blanks.

You should have received an official invitation to attend the Reunion Gala by now. If you need another copy, there is a downloadable pdf form available here or on the Reunion Activities page.

Do you have any suggestions to improve the Reunion? The Steering Committee will be meeting again at 6:30 this Thursday, March 9, at Finnan's Restaurant in Lockport. Please pass along any recommendations to a committee member. Feedback about the Reunion is always welcome!
