Life is so good!
After I received my elementary education degree from Oswego, Dan
(Lago, Roy-Hart '65 - see his bio) and I were married and the joy ride began. We moved to Philadelphia so I could pursue my graduate work in the Psychology of Reading and experienced living in the "big city," which has lasted us a lifetime.
Following my graduation from Temple University we moved to Penn State so Dan could continue his graduate work...a common theme in our early years. I began teaching reading in a local school district and have continued teaching kindergarten through high school over the past thirty years.
As soon as Dan completed his doctorate he accepted a position at Penn State and has taught classes in gerontology, research methodology, and written grants. Along the way we have raised two wonderful children, Emily and Ben. Emily is a financial manager for defense contracts with Raytheon and Ben is a remote property manager for a high-end fly fishing club located on Spruce Creek, a prime trout fishing stream in Pennsylvania. We have the great joy of having both kids close to home so we can enjoy Sunday dinners, kayaking on mountain streams, hiking the Allegheny Front Ridge, and harnessing their energy on our continuing efforts to remodel a one hundred year old one room schoolhouse that we call home.
I will be with my Dad in North Carolina during our reunion but will vicariously enjoy the festivities via the website. My best wishes to everyone!
