Some milestone events in my life since leaving all of you back in 1966 are provided below:
• Left Middleport in '66 right after graduation and headed off to work for General Motors as a GMI Engineering Student.
• Met the love of my life (Elizabeth Murphy) in '68 while out celebrating the completion of my sophomore year of college.
• Transferred to RIT in '69 to play a little football (quarterback) and see what a real college was like.
• In '71, I graduated from RIT with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, married the love of my life, and went to work for the company that I thought I would be employed by for the rest of my life (Niagara Mohawk Power).
• In '76, we had our first daughter (Amy Elizabeth). I earned my Professional Engineer's license, and began night school at Canisius College.
• Had our second daughter in '79 (Jennifer Margaret).
• In mid '80, after 31/2 years of night school, I received my MBA, making me the second generation in my family to earn a Masters Degree at Canisius College (the first generation was a first-generation American and also your high school history teacher).
• In '82, I left the security of the electric utility business and went to work for an Engineering Consulting Company (General Physics) – one of the better decisions I have ever made.
• In '99, Amy (our first daughter) graduated from Canisius with a Masters in Education – making her the third generation of our family to receive a Masters Degree from Canisius College.
• In '00, Amy marries a very nice young man.
• In '02, we build a second home next to the No. 11 tee box in Pebble Creek (Phoenix, AZ), and I was also promoted to Vice President of Energy Services at General Physics.
• In '03, our first grandchild (Ella Elizabeth) was born.
• In '05, our second grandchild (Ryan Joseph) was born, and Jennifer (our second daughter) married a great young man.
• In '06, I was promoted to Senior VP.
All-in-all, life has been and continues to be very good; I am busy with my job, my wife, my children, and my grandchildren (they are so special). My mother and father are still alive and living in the Geneva, NY area near my sister Kathy. Both are in remarkably good physical health, but Dad's short-term memory is shot.
I also play a lot of golf (much of it with my wife), continue to see the world through business trips and vacation travel, occasionally visit my life-long friends in Colorado (Ron & Linda Mufford), and just generally try to garnish as much as I can from every day I am alive.
I am very much looking forward to seeing all my former classmates – please know that I remember and think about each and everyone of you.
